Read 1 Peter 5:6-11, Psalm 91
The “All” of Almighty
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” Ephesians 3:20
We can all find great comfort in the almighty power of God. What joy there is knowing that He is in control of all things and working them for our good. The wonder of His might is exceeded only by the wonder of His love.
We usually think of the almightiness of God in terms of His power to create and control the world and everything in it. We too easily overlook the wonder working power of His presence within us.
God is not only mighty to save, but He is mighty to
forgive and forget all our sins and heal all our diseases. He is mighty to transform. He changes us from sinners to saints instantly and also in the ongoing process of conforming us into the image of Christ under the shelter of His wings of grace.
The “all” of the almighty is the power to turn evil into good
He gives us the power to persevere and grow in our faith through all of the tribulations of life. He gives us a new heart to go with our new identity as born again children of God and freely supplies His grace sufficient for our every need.
God is mighty to carry on the good work that was begun the hour we first believed until we are perfected into fullness of His glory in heaven.
He is mighty to give us the knowledge of His will and the strength and power to obey. As we surrender our will to His, He is mighty to renew our minds and cleanse our hearts daily through our confession and repentance.
The “all” in the almighty is the mountain moving power to do all the things that we could never do in our own through Christ who strengthens us when we abide in Him and the power and security of His love.
Father, keep me under the wings of your almighty power that I might know the fullness of your joy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”Psalm 91:1
“So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and in his good time he will honor you. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you1 Peter 5:6,7
