HOPE FOR OUR CHILDREN
Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it.
Proverbs 22:6
If you are a parent, I'm sure you've read this verse time and time again in hopes that it will indeed be true in the life of your child. I know I have. I still believe it to be true.
There are few things more distressing than seeing a child that once loved the Lord, leading a life that is far from Him. I've been there — done that and tore up that T-shirt! Yet, the Lord uses His Word to stress the importance of trusting Him to work things out in her life. The only other choice I have is to give up and I'm not ready for that yet!
I have learned that I made a few mistakes in the lives of my children. In looking back I see where I should have been more observant of their talents and really helped them focus on that so they could better prepare for the future. I truly believe that is part of what this verse is talking about. We are to help our children develop their potential. Well, there is still hope!
How about you? Have you given up or do you remain hopeful? Let's stand together in hope!
