Being victimized
Enslaved
Beat into submission
Imprisoned
Shackled

They live in darknesss
They live in fear
Their walls made higher, thicker, and stronger

Told they couldn’t do it on their own…
You are poor
You are skinny
You can’t cook
You are ugly

One moment in time
Everything they thought they knew
One moment in time
Everything they were ever told
Everything within them
Being suddenly cast into the light of truth

In truth they find their strength
Today the truth is their light

Today they stand with their head held high
Today they stand together firm, strong, confident
