Got an issue here's a tissue. LOL. Ok I have done a 4th step twice. Once to write down everything I had done and was done to me. Then another to write down how I felt about what I did and what was done to me.

After that I got to step 10 and started the Living the Program pamphlet. The 37 questions from hell. Not really but it felt like it after about 7 months. So then I had a devine inspiration and asked my sponsor if there was a shorter version of the tenth step. He said yeah my sponsor has one. So we went to his place and I copied it down on a brown paper grocery bag and typed it up when I got home.

This is what it says;

10th STEP

1. Have I taken personal responsibility for my actions today?

2. What did I do today that I wish I had not done?

3. What have I left undone today that I wish I had done?

4. Did I abuse or over indulge in any of the following areas; yes or no

- Sex; alone or with others
- Food
- Spending
- Work
Have I asked god for the willingness to be balanced in these areas?

5. Have I lied or exaggerated the truth today?

6. Have I stolen time or money from my family or job today?

7. Is there a character defect that I'm unwilling to give up today? Of so, what is the defect (s), and have I asked God for the willingness to let go of this defect (s).

8. Is there a secret in my life today that is keeping me from growing? If so, who can I trust with this secret and will I call them today?

9. What is my biggest fear today? Have I turned this specific ffear over to God, Just for Today?

10. Have I forgiven everyone I feel has ever offended me ( living or deceased )? If not, Have I asked God for the wllingness to forgive them?

11. How was I good to myself today?

12. What evidence do I have in my life today that God loves me PERSONALY.

10th Step Prayer

God, please help me to visualize how I might have done better in all areas of my life and I firmly resolve, with your help, to carry these lessons into the new day.
AMEN.

I feel as though this is sufficient for ongoing and continued recovery. There are ofcourse exceptions to every suggestion and must in NA. If we have an " ISSUE " that we did not address adequatly in our last 4th step, Perhaps the best of our ability at the time wasn't quite good enough in the present circumstances to carry us through life, Or we have unearthed or allowed to surface an " ISSUE " that we had kept hidden or buried from ourselves Lo these many years. Perhaps our Awareness has grown so exponentially that we wish to redress a given " ISSUE " so that we do not slight ourselves by our lack of awareness in the past to do that issue justice in the here and now.

Regardless if you feel that you could benefit from doing a mini 4th step on something. Have at it. Worst case you might learn more about yourself or just repeat what work you have already done for a nice refresher in that given area. Either way it should keep you out of trouble and give you something to share about in meetings and with your sponsor.

Or how could continued work on yourself actually hurt you sprititiually?
