Energy Audits

He did it so you would never think that it was your own strength and energy that made you wealthy. Deuteronomy 4:17 NLT

But you shouldn’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that I, the Son of Man, can give you. For God the Father has sent me for that very purpose. John 6:27 NLT

The high price of energy of every kind has governments and companies spending billions of dollars every year studying how to conserve energy.
Most utility companies offer free energy audits. The Word of God is the oldest and most successful energy audit system.

Life itself is energy, and we only have so much of it to burn. We are told not to waste it worrying about material things or about the future. We are not to burn it up with anger or lust.

We must never let the cares of this world or sin drain us of the tremendous life- giving source we have in the energy of the Holy Spirit.

The stewardship of life includes the stewardship of our energy. We can use it positively or negatively depending on the choices we are all given the freedom to make.

Self control is all about conserving our energy so that our lives will reflect the positive flow of God’s grace to us and through us to others.

When we lose our tempers or control of any of our emotions, we are going to spend energy that could be put to much more productive uses.

When our energy is fueled by our flesh, we are going to waste the biggest part of it and never know the peace and joy that only a Spirit- fueled new birth in Christ can generate.

If we will just take the time to audit how much energy we spend on TV, movies, entertainment, and other trivial pursuits in comparison to how much energy we spend on seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness, we will all find that we can do a much better job of spending our energy.

Father, help me to be a good steward of Your energy. In Jesus name, Amen.

Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Spend your time and energy in training yourself for spiritual fitness.
1 Timothy 4:7 NLT
