Perplexed

We are... perplexed, but not driven to despair (from 2Cor 4:8)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe it's the pizza I ate yesterday, or this illness I'm getting over... things just seem off balance and not right. What's going on? Is the enemy just trying to unsettle me? Maybe I need to be unsettled... I don't know.

Maybe you have times like this. We are learning that we don't have to know what is going on. We have the firm foundation of God in Christ. When we are perplexed we're not driven to despair. Let me look to our Good Shepherd who leads us through rocky times.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jer 29:11)

Take that you unsettled mind! And let me not forget: all the promises of God are 'yes' in Christ. (see 2Cor 1:20) He has plans for you and me. Right at the top of his list of blessings is to train us to find our rest- trusting in him. Let's pray.

Lord, things don't seem right... but you never change. You remember that I am only dust- and your lovingkindness and mercy never end. Where should I go and what should I do?

I will trust in you, my Rock and my Life. Help me rejoice in my weakness- trusting you to lead me where my soul is at rest- looking to you. Amen.

Today's very great and precious promise

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Cor 12:9)

We have God's Word on it.
