Hi everyone. I guess you could say I'm new to the website. Last December, I would come on this website to read what other people posted, but I never actually posted anything myself. At that time, I finally realized that my drinking was out of control, so I decided to stop. I was sober for 108 days and then I took that first drink. Once I took that first sip I knew everything I worked for was gone, but it made me feel like I was normal again for my age. I'm in my mid-20s, and I have never been a crazy partier, but for a small girl I can drink with the best of them. I would drink with my now husband's friends or with my guy friends and out drink them all the time. My father is a recovering alcoholic, who has been sober for over 15 years. I know in my heart that I can't drink, and that when I do, I'm making the wrong decision. I don't like how it makes me feel the next day (I always get very depressed the day after drinking) and I don't like that I'm not in control when there is alcohol is in my system. I have decided once and for all that that is it. I'm stepping up and taking full control of my problem. I am not going to let alcohol ruin me. I have nothing to lose by quitting; I only have things to gain. Thank you for listening, and I hope that when I have those weak moments, I can turn here for support.
