Peace in the Storm
"Peace! Be still!" (from Mark 4:39)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Spirit of Jesus Christ brings the offer of perfect peace in the midst of our trouble. If we would but trust and wait on him, he will speak the quiet living word to our soul, "Peace! Be still!".
Who is this that brings peace to each of us who are born again? It is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (see Col 1:27) Let's pray.
Lord, my trouble seems impossible. Without you I can do nothing. Help me.
Help me surrender everything to you. Free me from the idea that if only people would change, then my trouble would be over. You know my troubles.
You have gone through them and overcome them yourself. Wake me from this idea that I can fix things. Let me fix my mind on you- my peace and my salvation- my life and my joy. Amen.
Today's very great and precious promise
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. (Isa 26:3)
We have God's Word on it.
