POWER WITHIN REACH.

Some nights before sleeping I sit up in my bed and read a

little, then when ready to sleep I have to get out of my warm

bed to switch the light off. I have to walk around to the switch

near our door and walk back to my side of the bed in darkness.

I have often done this most nights, since we moved into our

home around 4 years ago. Until recently I made a discovery.

One night both my husband and I were reading and I ask him

if he could get out of the bed and turn off the light as I didn't

want to get out of the bed. He asked why I had been getting

out of the bed to turn off the light, and I explained that that's

what people do when they want to light to go off. He smiled

and then he pointed to a power switch button next to our fan

controller and said "well just use this switch right next to you,

as it is linked to the light switch and also turns off the light +

you don't need to get out into the cold, move any where, nor

stagger around in the dark".

I felt like a complete idiot!!! I had no idea that the switch

(right next to my head) controlled the main light, I thought

it was for the ceiling fan ... and so for four years I had been

doing things the hard way, with no knowledge that there

was closer access available to me.

I asked my husband how long he knew about the second

switch, he said he had always known and was very surprised

to find out that I had no idea. Often we think that if we know

something then everyone else must also know... but that is

obviously not always the case. (If you know that power is

available to you and others - please remind them of this, as

they may be like me.... unaware of the access available.....

don't hold back on reminders or encouragement.)

Power was closer to me, than I had realized... and it had

always been there for me, I just didn't know. God is available,

He hears our prayers, we don't have to chase Him as He is

waiting for us.... the power is closer then we sometimes think.

You don't have to run around to find it, or be out in the cold,

or wondering around in the darkness. He is within reach -

did you know that?...if not, then you know now, and if you

did, well this is just a reminder.

Blessings,

Akita.
