Welcome To The Fellowship

Welcome to the fellowship
Here take this chair
When you walked through our doors
We'll show you that we care
We will love you
Until you can love yourself
Put the plug in the jug
Keep the drugs on the shelf
All you need is a desire to stop
That's all it takes
To join our way
We'll share our program
Show you how to live in today
You will never again be lonely
Unless you choose
As long as you don't pick up
You'll never lose
We will teach you
How to work the steps
One by one
We will teach you
That in sobriety
You can have fun
Surrender to win
Is a good place to begin
First you have to clean up the past
In here no one is first
And no one is last
We have a way that is simple
But not easy you see
Rest assured we'll teach you
How to live free
In here we know
How you feel inside
Because we have been
Where you're at
But no longer hide
Welcome to the fellowship
Of pure love
This program was given to us
By God above
Have some coffee
Sit right down
We are so happy
That you have come around
We'll show you how we
Make our way
Then you can be blessed
Yourself
As you give it away
Welcome to the fellowship

Hi to all,

Just found this site while reading the big book online, been around the program for 20 years and just made 3 years on 11-9. Same ole story, I fought for my right to do it my way and it never worked. Put together 6 years once and back out, all better, wrong!! So today is a good day, I hit meetings, have a great sponser, we're working the steps together, I try to keep it simple, I ask for thy will be done not mine and thank my higher power at night. I have a son that turned 21 yesterday and he has this thing but he don't know it yet and it's hard to watch, I know all I can do is be a power of example and pray for him, his name is Ryan and I'd ask you all to pray for him too.

Thanks for being here.

Hi Everyone.
My name is Sherri Mc and I'm an alcoholic. I'd like to say thanks for welcoming me into Recovery Fellowship. I have been attending AA meetings reguliarily and fell short of 99 meetings in 99 days for 2 months now. My new Birthday date is now Nov.1 2007.. in life and myself. Working on Completly Surrendering my Will into the hands of God. I know he exists and without his help I am powerless and my life is unmanageable. I need help. Thanks.

Hi. My name is Jerry and I'm an alcoholic. I'm supposed to tell you what it was like, what happened and what it's like now. My sobriety date is Feb. 13, 1990...

This looks like a great place to hang out when (insert a million reasons).

You know, it really is a one day at a time deal and life keeps on coming full steam. It is good AA has "a design for living".

At the moment I'm having to focus real hard on Step 10. Hoping to gain some discipline. "We're an undisciplined lot".

Oftentimes God's will is only known to me through you so I think I'll listen a while.

Glad to be here.

Forgot to mention I'm in Alabama.

Hi, my name is Robert. I am an addict and an alcoholic. My clean date is October 31, 2007. I am from Ottawa, Canada.

This is my third time working on recovery. As f this writing I am completing a treatment program. Treatment has been going very well and been beneficial to my recovery. I attend NA and AA meetings and am currently trying to sort where i feel most comfortable so i can choose a home group and sponsor.

I had the first glimmerings of hope's return just in the last few days and it's been an oasis in the desert.

It's really really good to be back. It is such an endless nightmare out there.

my prayers to addicts everywhere who are trying to change their lives.

Hello,I'm glad I located this site! It seems like a great place to come and experience recovery. My name is Eric. I really want to stop drinking/using. I drank last night. I feel out of control and guilty. I experienced 2 years of recovery 10 years ago but have not been able to get more than a month sober since. I am also addicted to a prescription medication given to me for anxiety. I have made poor decisions while drinking. Today I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I haven't ever been really involved with a 12 -step support group, although, I have attended a few meetings.

Hi all! I just found your site today. I am a weekend binge drinker and am just so tired of acting like a maniac when I get drunk. I have 13 year old son and he's seen me in action, more than a few times unfortunately. I feel like a failure as a mother. Anyway, I am, like my name says, feeling blue right now. Thank you for making me feel welcome! I will be sure to come back! I am hoping this helps me, being able to come here any time and ask questions and learn from others. Thanks again and I look forward to talking to everyone!:195:

you know, I only got 90 days, but I love recovery more and more everyday! I never really thought it was possible for someone as junked out as I was to clean up and have hope for a better life, but I have found that out to be not true at all. There is hope, as long as I have the desire to have hope! I live in broken arrow, ok and attend 2 different types of groups. My home group is NA, and I attend a celebrate recovery. I like both and find the support I need in both. N E way, I am 31 years old, am a full time student, will be working full time also and love God. I am single with no kids but hope to eventually have a family. Thanks for reading, Josh:162::162:

Hello Everyone, I am David. I'm an Addict, and an alcoholic who hails from Rutland, VT.
After 20 years of packing, I'm ready to start the journey that's only twelve steps long. LOL.

my DOS is 12/24/2007. I entered detox, then rehab, and now a half-way house.
I'm still so new to the recovery process that I will most likely lurk around the forums for the better part of this week until I get to know what's what around here, but I'm very grateful to see a place where I can finally just hang out and feel like I don't have to drink or drug to participate. Thanks!

Im new here and trying to figure out how to get around on here. I am an alcoholic and I begin treatment this Saturday 3/15 for 25 days in Washington State. Im very nervous and scared but very ready to get help and get clean. My drinking over the years has started to affect my health and I have too much in life to live for to not take care of my problem.

I have had some experience with AA in the past, but not until recently have I really understood what i was reading.....I guess you really do have to hit your bottom before you get desperate enough. I know I have a long road ahead of me in recovery but to be honest, it can't be half as miserable as the last few years have been. I am SO grateful to be here and to be able to do this. I appreciate the messages. And Janbear, Yeah, another Okie!
my last hangover is still pretty fresh in my mind and when I have a passing thought of resuming my past activities, I just pop that little memory in the old tape player...............jeeeze. I call myself an alcoholic, but I also have a drug history, added that the last few years to help me drink more efficiently!lol. God I'm sick and I'm glad I know it. Thanks again and enjoying reading here. Stephanie

Hi everyone. My name is Scott L. and I am an alcoholic who lives in Oklahoma. I have been sober since 07/28/07. I cannot believe it has almost been 8 months. It is used often but it is true, one day at a time. I still attend meetings almost every day, but I found this website and was impressed with the knowledge and fellowship. The last 8 months in sobriety have been the greatest in my life. Thanks for letting me a part of this website.

Thanks for the welcome, just have a few "needs" that I would love to chat with sisters about! I am 60 years old, worked in the CD field for about 20 years, and am now life coaching, primarily women. Two and one half grandchildren(one on the way that is), my sons, their families are lights in my life and just a few of the rewards of 25 and a half years of recovery from alchohol, drugs, relationships, and you all know about that. So as I continue on the sobriety trail, I am still growing, our 12 step program in Rapid City is strong, yet I find that I am ready for more! Recently re-learned that in order to stay out of a low grade anger, I must again and always keep it really simple, in my work, marriage, finances, etc, as you know. Wanting to talk with women who are relating, women who are on the "trail", and want to offer some support. I am blessed, I am sober, I know my God personally, and life isgood, just want company. Blessings, and thanks again. Sharon

Hi. I'm Dorothy from Montana. I've been in and out of the program since 1985, but have relapsed twice. I'm back at meetings again and this time am actually working the steps instead of just talking. I haven't quit drinking completely, but I believe that God will help me if I let him drive the wagon instead of trying to pull the load on my own. I have a sponsor who is helping me also. This forum is wonderful inspiration. I'd rather read it than have a nightcap!

Hello, again! Yes, I love cats! I have 2 torti Himilayans, both very spoiled~hehe
They are my girls, love them dearly! Don't know if you are knowledgable on the breed, but they are a mix of Siamese & Persian. They are long haired and have the flat face of the Persian, but are blue eyed & have the markings of the Siamese. Their body build is like that of a Persian as well.
wow, all this cat talk~I hope I have not bored too many!! hehe

Hey Catlady, I love Himalayans. :27: They are beautiful cats. I keep forgetting that our male chocolate point Siamese is actually half chocolate point Himalayan. His mother is a chocolate point Siamese and his father is a chocolate point Himalayan. His fur is more like a Siamese and his face is a cross between the 2. He is really a handsome fellow and getting bigger everyday. He is 8 months old now. You never bore me with cat talk. I will have to post some new pics soon of my kitties in my journal on the board here. If you have some pics of your cats I would love to see them. :1:

Dorothy, i know what you mean about working the steps, and not just talking. I use to could talk it real well but it meant nothing until i got serious about the steps. Recovery Rocks

Catlady, i may not know much about cats but always interested in learning more. You are not boring. I am more of a dog person. I have 2 miniature Schnauzers that love to love on people. I have seen bluidkiti's cats and they are beautiful.

:67: Susan and Heidi! :17: Glad to have you both join us here. Please make yourselves at home. We have online meetings here http://www.cyberrecovery.net/forums/chat_mainpage.php . You can check the meeting times here http://www.cyberrecovery.net/forums/chatmeet.php . We have an Online Journal forum here http://www.cyberrecovery.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=29 that some use in their everyday recovery and to fellowship with each other.
I do suggest making face to face meetings. AA meetings were very helpful in my getting sober and staying sober. Feel free to ask any questions you may have and to continue to come and share with us here on the board. I look forward to getting to know both of you better. :61:

Heidi, I am from North Carolina also. :D

I am new - this is so hard. i had convinced myself for years that I was not an alcoholic because I was a successful professional who owned her own business, and only drank the really good wine, and always out of crystal glasses - I was horrified to admit that I really had a problem. I have been sober for 2 months, but am struggling with the fact that I can never drink again, and in my life with the galas, business dinners, clients, etc., to always have a plan and try to deal with it. I'm doing it, but it is so hard.

In the 12-step program they taught me to break it down into days instead of thinking the rest of my life. One day at time. That was more manageablet to me than the idea of the rest of my life. Keep it simple and focus on Staying sober One Day at a Time :1:

Hi I'm an alcoholic and my name is Rpn. I'm from Bogota, NJ USA. I'm 6 years sober now. I was introduced to AA when I was 23 over 24 years ago. I wasn't ready to admit powerlessness though and I continued drinking and using for another 17+ years. In and out of AA when things got bad but couldn't stay because I had to do it my way. When finally hopeless I was able to see that my way didn't work and if I was to have any chance at all of getting and staying sober I need to shut up and listen and do what SOBER AA's were doing one day at a time. I am powerless alone but in AA with the help of AA's and God and action guided by the 12 Steps we are able to remain sober.
WIGGLE YOUR TOES.

Hi,
My name is Mike and I'm an alcoholic. I managed to get sober 9 months ago when I had my last drink.
I live in the UK, and I owe my recovery to AA. I attend as many meetings as I can, usually about 3-4 every week. Life without alcohol is a new experience for me. I could not imagine life without it. Now I find myself beginning to enjoy relaxation for its own sake.
The regular members of AA are a constant source of inspiration to me. I never thought I would consider continuing with abstinence long term once I had managed to kick the habit, but now it seems to be the only sensible option. I have learnt a lot at AA.

Mike.

Hi, I am Karen and am an addict. I have fourteen days clean, am currently working Step Three, and attend meeting 3-4 times a week. I think I am at the point where I need a sponsor and have decided an online female sponsor would be best for me. Someone who has been through the steps and has some clean time behind them. I need guidance and am open to anything that will take me further in my recovery.

I have been looking for an online sponsor on different sites for about a week now, but to no avail. That's okay, that just means the time isn't yet right, or the right person has not read my message. While doing all I can physically do to get a sponsor, I leave it in the hands of my Higher Power. I am not going to obsess over this. I'm just going to keep doing what I am doing and trust I will find the sponsor I am meant to have when the time is right.

Have a great 24 everyone :)

Hello everyone and thanks in advance for the welcomes. My last drink was over 8 years ago and I feel like getting wasted, or at least putting a good buzz on. That's what happens when you stop going to meetings and don't call your sponsor nor anybody else in the program. The problem is i suffer from severe depression and AA stopped helping with that, too. I think i got burned out and fed up. So anyway, at least i have found online recovery and am able to do that. It is helping. I started by trying to find people in need as that is the best thing to get one out of oneself. I only found one, cluttered by a bunch of meaningless banter in the chat rooms. I shall perservere, with Gods help. I look forward to healing with you. <3 Lyla

My name is Neil and I am an alcoholic sober by the Grace of God, the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, and our wonderful twelve step program since June 13, 1999.
Living in a rural area with many meetings it is so easy to keep from letting personalities get in the way even though I try to practice our watchwords of tolerance and love.
I do like to hear from other people so throw them hears at me. Thanks

Hi,

I'm Mary and my disease is Co-dependency which finally led me down the road to drug abuse. I have been clean since 1/20/08. I have been through out-pt treatment and am in a Recovering Professionals Program for medical personnel. I am a nurse currently out of work due to legal issues.
