All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too. (2 Corinthians 1:3-5 — The Message)
Have you ever asked for directions from someone who has never been where you are going? You are not very confident with their input are you? How would you feel about talking to someone about a problem or struggle who has never had a problem or struggle? You probably would not feel very confident with the advice you received. They've never been there; they never had to work through and pray through these things. We find it a great comfort when we find someone who has been there, who knows what we are going through, and who can come along side us and help us through our difficult time.
God often allows such things for our own growth and so we can offer what we have learned to others. In this way we can then be that person who comes alongside someone and helps them navigate these treacherous waters. So learn from your difficult times, seek God for comfort and guidance, as well as others who have been where you are going.
Remember the lessons learned and use that wisdom and knowledge to help and assist others. And remember that Jesus never promised that it would be easy, but that it would be worth it. He is with you always.
Live it with passion,
