Abide in Me
"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me." (John 15:4)

By his grace we can choose to abide in him. His wonderful promise: "I will never leave you nor forsake you." (see Heb 13:5) In the love of God we have a choice and he says that you cannot bear fruit "unless you abide in me."
I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (Phi 4:13)
If it's about me I will say, "Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect..." But it's not about me. What a relief- it's about him!
And so we say, "Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own." (Phi 3:12) Let's pray.
Lord Jesus, you are faithful. Help me embrace your promise to never leave me. It is by your grace alone that I will press in to know you better. Thank you for repentance and for the firm place to stand, in the promise of your love. Amen.
Today's very great and precious promise
By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. (John 15:8-9)
We have God's Word on it.
