"God's Glory Shines"

"And those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever." —Daniel 12:3 NIV

What did Jesus mean when he said, "I have come that they might have life, and have it to the full"? I believe that today's scripture describes a person who is able to live life to the full. That person is wise enough to believe Jesus' promises, so that every day his or her life shines with the joy of the Lord. No matter what the circumstance, God loves us and wants to guide us. And when our lives shine "like the brightness of the heavens," others are led to righteousness because they long for the joy they see in us.

The Bible tells us, "For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him" (II Chronicles 16:9). Isn't it awe-inspiring to know that God cares so much about each and every one of us? And we have many opportunities to lead others to righteousness. Perhaps we have children who are learning from us, through our bright and shining examples. Or maybe we have an opportunity to teach others in school or perhaps in Sunday school. We may influence some in the workplace or wherever we are in contact with them. It is up to us whether that influence is good or bad. Prayerful living leads us to shine like the stars!

Do you choose to cloud your life with doubt, fear, anger or hate? Or are you wise enough to know that "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble"? (Psalm 46:1). If so, the brilliance of God's glory will shine through you and attract others to a life of righteousness in Christ.

Lord, guide me in your wisdom and love, so that I may reflect it to all whom I meet. Amen.
