Hear the Call
In Judah it was said, "The strength of those who bear the burdens is failing. There is too much rubble. By ourselves we will not be able to rebuild the wall." (Neh 4:10)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When we determine to be holy serving God in all we do our battle begins. In the body of Christ we are called to be separate from worldly ways. If you are like me then you can feel overwhelmed at mess in your life.
And our enemies said, "They will not know or see till we come among them and kill them and stop the work." At that time the Jews who lived near them came from all directions and said to us ten times, "You must return to us." (Neh 4:11-12) We are one body in Christ. Hear the call.
Each of us is assigned a section of the wall... Christ has placed each one of us in the body to cooperate with him, for our families and friends, to encourage one another and build one another up. (compare Neh 4:13) Let us not give up.
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. (1Pet 4:12) The Holy Spirit through our trials exposes the low places where our life of holiness to the Lord needs to be built up.
And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. (1Thes 5:14) Let us pray for each other to build one another up, as we look to Christ Jesus. Let's pray.
Lord Jesus, you have always known where you are leading, but I am only beginning to wake up. Help me to look to you in all my circumstances, to be holy in all I do. Grant me grace to encourage those around me that we can be mutually built up in you. Amen.
Today's very great and precious promise
"I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." (Mat 16:18)
We have God's Word on it.
