View Full Version : 37 days sober
I am so gratefull for this 37 days. There have been a couple times when all I could do is PRAY!!!!! I wanted to drink so bad. I am so glad that I did not drink. Anyway,, after coming out on the other side of those terribly strong urges to drink.. but not giving in :195: gives me a new hope. With Gods help I DID NOT DRINK!!! Just 4 2day is a banner on my cell phone. I was nearly in tears a couple times I wanted to drink so bad. But I didnt want to drink so bad. Just happy to be sober today.

Congratulations Tlyn. Your post reminded me that in my early days there were times I practiced my sobriety one hour at a time because a day almost seemed too overwhelming.Hang in there my friend, it does get better.
Blessings,

This deal isn't always easy. We spent our whole lives trying to feel better, at least thats my story. Sometimes ya just got to hang in there, one thing I no is you got to have a spondsor and you've got to get involved in the fellowship. I've been around the program for 20 yrs and have tried everything I could come up with to not give myself to this simple program. After I would get myself together I would forget how bad it was and be laying in the hospital wondering how I ever thought I could use again. Just for Today

Good job Traci. :29:
I turn to prayer first on just about everything these days. I have found prayer followed by a phone call gets me past the worst part of my cravings. God likes to speak to me on the telephone through other recovering alcoholics. :169:
