hanging on with all my might
to an ever-unraveling thread
struggling through another night
with these demons in my head
I can't cope, my mind's tore down
my heart's been massacred
jumping up with every sound
I have or haven't heard
and I long for the light of freedom
I crave that saving ray of peace
let me know my new life has begun
assure me my soul's been released
and I will follow your path,
let your steps be my guide
and finally this storm I have
will be loosed from inside
serenity will be my call
others I will aid
I will strive to surrender all
I will take on your last name
for we are all one family
joined by the bonding of our hearts
this hope shared with you and me
will help others gain a brand new start
thank you God, for all your blessings
all the joy and all the lessons
all that you have opened inside me
I will give my all today
to your will and to NA
for without them I wouldn't be free
