Hello Everyone,

I am looking for help- have been trying to get off the booze (at home) for a long time- go in spurts of 4-5 days and then boom!!! I heard about the lady who lost several 100 lbs thru chat groups, and it gave me the idea that this could really help- so hope I found the right group!:195:

:67: hopeful99! :17: Glad to have you join us. I have found alot of help and support as well as fellowship and friends through recovery online. I do highly suggest for those trying to get off the booze to go to meetings and also check in with your doctor. When I was stopping drinking, I needed all the help I could get from everywhere I could get it. Don't limit yourself. We also have a chatroom here that offers online meetings. This is the link for the chatroom http://www.cyberrecovery.net/forums/chat_mainpage.php and this is the link for the meeting schedule http://www.cyberrecovery.net/forums/chatmeet.php . Please feel free to continue to come and share with us here also. We are here for you. :42:

Hi Hopeful, I'm glad you're here. Although there are some days when I don't check in here, when I do I always find something that helps me for that day. I too recommend that perhaps you find some meetings where you can meet some people in recovery face to face, which I think really helps with feeling "a part of" the program of recovery. I will look for you in the chat room also. :15: Keep coming back to see us!

hopeful99 I'm glad you decided to get some help. Trying to do it alone at home is a tall order. I know I can't do it that way. The fellowship here as well as at face to face AA meetings will help you to get out of your head which is not where you want to be right now.

There are a lot of good people in recovery. Good times await you.
