The Start Of Recovery
At the start of my recovery
My life was full of discovery
It was not easy
Make no mistake
In the beginning
It's all take and take
Working the steps
One by one
One day at a time
In the beginning was not fun
Then we arrive at making amends
We are blessed in life
Now we have many new friends
That's when we really start to live
We turn to the new comers
Give and give
We share our experience
Strength and hope
We then can teach
Newcomers how we cope
What a blessing we all can see
When we turn and help others to live free
This gives us strength
In our own walk
We do so much more
Then just talk the talk
We are blessed
We are happy, joyous and free
As we watch God work
And set others free
For God is the one
Who sets drunks right
We just share every
Morning, noon and night
How God has helped us
With our fight
This new life
We have been given
Is a great chance
To be living
