Hi. I joined CRF last night after much praying and struggling and feeling alone. I reported my eldest son and his wife for child abuse and neglect last night.
I'm asking for your prayers for my 3 grandsons, ages 5, 2, and 8 mo. I believe and know in my heart that God is bigger than their fears and hurts and they could not be in any better hands than His. Please pray for them, that your Higher Power will hold them close, protect them, and provide them with the love and blessings which they need.
Please pray for my son as well. He is a recovering addict and has begun to drink. He has been out of the program for over 2 years. He was clean and sober until about 4 months ago. He loves his children, but has chosen to stay with his wife who is abusing them. He said to me, "Mom, I keep trying to tell her to stop hurting them, but I can't make her do it." My heart broke. Please pray for him also.
And, please pray for my daughter-in-law. She is an ACOA and has suffered much abuse in her life. She is so very afraid of nearly everything. Please pray to your Higher Power, that she might learn to reach out to the babies in love rather than in violence, and that she might come to see that she to is loved and worthy of love.
Finally, please pray for me. My heart hurts so very to much over this. I have been praying every minute, and believe that I did do God's will in reporting the abuse. I, however, in doing so have hurt my son and his wife as well as others in our family. I feel so guilty for hurting them. I have been logged in here since I signed up...I'm going to stay logged in here until I can get to a meeting. I wanted so badly to use last night, but instead all of you were here and I was able to fill my heart and soul with words of love, understanding, compassion, common sense, and peace. And, I said, "Just for today, I will stay sober." Thank you all for helping me to do so.
