Don't ever think you have it made, because you haven't. You are only one drink away from a drunk, one hit away from a high. Staying in your program and close to the fellowship is your best bet right now.
Let me not get so carried away with my two weeks of sobriety that I get cocky and lose sight of the truth.
OMG did I need this. My sponsor told me that today I am a dinosaur (today is my 20 year anniversary). Last night I had one doozy of a drug dream. I dreamed that I had been drinking, and I rationalized not having to give up my clean time because it was "only" alcohol. I was quickly reminded that my disease attends meetings with me, and that the only sure fire way not to buy back the insanity is to remember I'm eligable too... It means that I can't get carried away with 20 years or I won't have 20 years and 1 day.
I cherish my recovery but it's not about what I did yesterday, it's how I live today. I am truly grateful today, that my dream was just a dream, and I'm right where I'm supposed to be.
