Hi everyone, my name is John and I am an alcoholic. I have used this site for some time but had never registered so today I have. I am a recovered alcoholic thanks to the 12 step programme of recovery and the fellowship of AA. It has been a journey and a half a bit like most of us will have but when I finally and honestly asked for help after spending a year and a half in AA the miricale happened, i have been reborn. I have learned that there is the fellowship and the programme of recovery 2 wonderful but seperate things. I could not stay sober for long just going to meetings. I was told "dont take the first drink and you cant get drunk" great advice but if you are an alcoholic this is an impossibility to do on your own. Anyway I asked for help and now have a sponsor who has become one of my best friends, I am no longer OBSSESED with booze, I dont use any form of drugs and I am happy. The thing that I was searching for was given to me I believe from God.
