Prayer for the Day

Dear Father, I come to you today in Jesus' name and I really desire to have your wisdom and knowledge. I honestly want to walk in such a way that I can be kind to those who speak against me, and I truly want to seek their good. I know that without the Holy Spirit I cannot do this, so fill me with your Spirit today. Let me be kind and loving; and change my heart from being defensive and argumentative, to being loving and kind. Help me speak the truth in love, yet without an angry tone. Help me to remember that you will defend me. Lord, when I see faults in others, help me to also check my own heart and motives for faults. Then Lord, deliver us all from those things that are not pleasing in your eyes. I choose to be a peacemaker today, not a trouble maker. I am trusting you to change those around me, as well as change those things in me that would cause us to engage in any unkind speaking. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, I want to be a light for You in this earth. Lord, we live in a dark world, so I desire that You shine in me so others may see Your light. Help me today to live perfectly toward you and walk in Your will. I know that when I do this, you will use me to help others. I know that while I am busy about your business, You will keep me safe from all harm. Thank you for another of Your promises in Psalm 37 that says, our seed shall be blessed. I am most blessed to have the promises of Your Word. May others know those same promises are for them and their families too. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Father, I come to you in Jesus' name thanking You for Your promises. Thank you especially for your promise of peace in my life today. I thank you that when I become anxious or fearful, that I can bring those fears to You and You will remove them and give me Your peace. Lord, I also appreciate your promise of a long life. Father, give us your grace and health in our latter years, so that we may complete all that you have called us to do. Thank you for keeping us safe, even at times that we did not know it. Dear Heavenly Father, I am grateful that you have revealed yourself to me. I do want to walk in Your Truth and keep your Words and Your commandments. I know that I cannot do this without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, so fill me with Your Holy Spirit this day. May I show mercy to any that need it, as I need your mercy as well. Lord, deliver me from any temptation of deceitfulness or any dishonest way. May I be honest and truthful with all. Cleanse my heart of everything that would be displeasing in your sight. Dear Father in Heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Thank you Lord, for so many wonderful promises in Your Word. I come to you humbly, and ask that you remove any prideful attitudes in my heart and life. I truly want to follow in Your ways and serve You. Help me to trust you when things are going wrong, as much as when things are going right. I realize to walk in faith, that I must believe that You will help me with my current problems even though I do not see a way at this time. Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for taking care of my needs today. Help me to always be faithful to give to Your work monetarily. Lord, help me also to be faithful to pray for those who are laboring in the work of getting the gospel out. Show me the places you want me to give. I know we are to support our local churches, but help me also to give to missions and Christian projects that are laboring to help people know you. Lord, I know as I reach out and give, your promise is to bless me back. Thank You for monetary blessings, so that not only will my needs be met, but I will have an abundance to helps others in need. Help me to be generous in every good work, even as it was spoken of You, that You went about doing good. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, I do thank You for all the times that You have corrected me. Please do not quit even if I cry about my situation at times. I thank You that You love me enough to correct me and not allow me to continue in the wrong way. I am sorry that I sometimes complain of my trials. I want to rise above complaining and learn to trust You more. Help to overcome the fears and doubts that I feel when I am facing trouble. Lord, I want to come to the place when I am facing a test, that I will see the BIGNESS OF GOD and not the bigness of my problem. I know that you love me and care for me, so give me patience, grace, strength and Your wisdom to overcome all things that the enemy brings against me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Dear Father, I am thankful for all you have done for me. I do appreciate the peace, love and joy that you have given me. Lord, money cannot buy these things. They come as virtues when we are "born again." Help me to walk in the Spirit Lord, so that these fruits may grow daily. I want to be more like you in all of my ways. I do seek Your wisdom as I need your guidance and understanding in the affairs of my life. Dearest Father, I am grateful that you are a God of order and of wisdom. Show me Your order in my every day affairs. I need my life and my ways ordered of You. Lord, I live in a time where there is so much busyness and hurry-hurry, let me not get caught up in the rush of our society. Slow me down, and show me my priorities. Let me do the things that are important to You. Let me not leave the important things of prayer and the study of Your Word undone. Forgive me when I neglect these things, because I have run out of time and strength that was given to less important things. I know if I put the things of God first, then I will have time for all the really important things in my life. Help me work on "being" like You, instead of just busy "doing" things for you. Dear Father in Heaven, I am so grateful to be Your child and I thank you for your wonderful promises to me. Thank you for the encouraging Words found in the Bible. I do want to walk in Your wisdom. Dear Lord, I come to you in the name of Jesus. You know that at times I do experience fear. I am so glad I can come to you and when I pray, You remove that fear and give me the faith and confidence that I need to trust You. Help me to trust You more. Thank you that Your angels are watching over me and my loved ones. I am sure when I get to heaven I will be amazed at the many things that You protected me from in this life. Lord, have mercy on the lost and give them opportunity to come to You and be spared from the awful judgments in this world. Use me to share Your love with those around me that do not know You. Dear Father, Thank for the book of Proverbs. There is so much good advice in this book Help me to take it to heart and apply it to my life. I see there is much is this book about relationships. Lord, I know if I am to be in a right relationship with You, I must be in a right relationship with my family, friends and neighbors. Help me to be a good neighbor. Help me also be sensitive to the needs of others. Help me guard my mouth and forgive me, as I have at times, spoken unkindly about others. Lord, help me to be a generous giver and to have your discernment in my giving. I ask you to empower me with Your Holy Spirit so that I might be loving in all my ways and truly love my neighbor as myself. In Jesus name, Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for all your wonderful gifts. I am especially thankful for the gift of discernment. Thank you, for the many times You have saved me from bad situations that I would have engaged in, if it were not for You warning me. I do thank you for spiritual eyesight. Lord, I pray today that I will always walk in Your way and will seek to avoid strife and be a peace maker. You said, "Blessed are the peace makers". Dear Father, Thank you for Your many blessings. When I really stop to count them all, there is no end to every blessing that you have given me. Every breath I take is a blessing. It is a blessing to be able to see, hear, walk and talk. You have granted me blessings in the many friends and family that I have. Thank you also, for all the physical and material blessings I have. I do appreciate them, but they are overshadowed by Your blessings of peace, love and joy that I have in my heart. Thank you, that You have redeemed me from the curse of sin and death and have given me eternal life. I am very grateful for what Jesus did for me on the cross. Lord, help me to live the Christian life before others, so that they might receive Your blessings too. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Dear Father, Thank you for the youth that know you and are attempting to follow you and your ways. I know it is not easy for them. Give them grace and strength to live the Christian life. Give them the holy boldness to witness to their peers. Lord, help me to be the kind of example that will inspire others to want to know You and follow you. Give them respectful hearts for their elders and all those in authority, even as You have instructed. I pray that I will also have a respectful attitude for those in authority. Lord, even when those in authority may be wrong, give me the grace to honor the office they represent. Let me be an honorable example to the youth of our day. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

Dear Father, I am grateful for your many blessings. Thank you for opening my eyes to Your truths and for your many promises to me. I do want to become wiser, so help me to study and understand the Bible. Open my spiritual ears to hear the things I need to understand at this time. Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for giving us instructions in the Bible on how to have a long and good life. Lord, I know that when I pray and ask you to watch over me and my loved ones, that You hear, and You answer my prayers. You are such a wonderful Father! I am grateful for Your love and watch care. Dear Father in Heaven, I am thankful for the light you have given me. Strengthen me to remain on the right path. I do pray for grace, not only to resist temptation, but to flee from it. Lord, I also pray for those that I know who are struggling right now to get free from addiction or other sins. Deliver them from evil and help them to get back on track with you. Lord, help me not to criticize them, but to be compassionate and lift them in prayer until they are free. I do forgive them for the troubles that some of them have brought to my life. I know that if I did not have your grace and mercy in my life, I could also be taken captive by the devil. Dear Heavenly Father, I am very grateful for the gift of eternal life. I rejoice that my name is written in the "Book of Life." Lord, I need to read and study Your Word more. Help me give up the things that are robbing me of the time I need to be spending with you. I received this p[rayer in an email this morning and would like to share it with you all ..............

This is one of the best prayers I think I have ever read.

PRAY THIS EVEN IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE IT!! IT WILL ONLY TAKE A MINUTE.

I started not to do this, but as I read it.... I understood God to say, "You need a miracle tomorrow.... so here goes... Prov. 29:25...

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day, I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you.

I ask now for Your forgiveness. Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You. Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things. Dear Father, I realize that I have been guilty of not guarding what has gone into my heart. Forgive me Lord, for this sin. Dear Father, Thank you for your instructions in the Bible. Give me the grace and humility to accept advice and correction, because I know when you instruct me, it is for my good. Lord, I pray for all the families that have gone through divorce. Lord, this has wounded them, because many of our children do not have their fathers; some do not have their mothers. Second marriages still carry wounds from the previous ones; Lord heal these marriages and homes. Forgive the adultery and fornication that has led to many of these marriage breakdowns. Forgive our young people who are living together, as many of them do not even know it is wrong, because society has embraced this as acceptable behavior. Restore love in our families. Heal us all. Yet she is unwilling to do the work that would place her on this Broad Highway of our Recovey Journey. The journey that has brought so many of us to know You and to love you. I ask Father that when she calls You speak through me. Let Your words be my words. If not me, then I ask that someone be placed in her life that will guide her and show her all that You have done and continue to do for us. I ask for Your peace for her and that she come to know You in a very real way. I ask the same for all who are thinking or feeling they are strong enough and independant enough to remain clean and sober on their own. Dear Father God, I am in Your Presence to bring to you the need of those I love and hold dear. When they feel as if they wait and watch and nothing happens— nothing changes—they grow discouraged. They may feel like the prophet who cried out, How long must I call for help, before You listen? Help them not to give up, to keep watching for Your answers, to be willing to keep on praying.
Help them be determined to rejoice in You no matter what's happening in their lives, to be joyful in You, their Savior, no matter how hard things are or how tired they are. Be their strength! Some have been content not to grow. They've continued to live as infants in Christ, settling for the milk of the Word, not ready to move on to solid food—sometimes for years. Forgive them and change them; help them be willing to grow, to become more mature in their walk, their understanding, and their application of Your Word. Give them faith strong enough to wait on You as Abraham, David, and Joseph did. Help them not to lose their confidence in You and Your faithfulness, to know they will see how good You are. Help them turn to You as the One who sustains them. Help all of us to see wonderful things in Your Word and be eager to live by Your rules, not ours. Direct our steps according to the Word; let no sin rule over us. Give us a genuine desire to grow beyond simple, elementary truth, becoming strong in our understanding, as we should. A PRAYER FOR STAYING SPIRITUALLY CENTERED


Gracious God, it seems that what most holds my attention are those things and people that I can see, touch, hear, and feel. Yet, in the moments of my day when my mind is still, my soul is quiet, and my breath is slow and even, I can almost detect a whiff of your presence. These precious times are all too fleeting; they slip away almost as quickly as they come. The phone rings, my child cries, a colleague needs my assistance, or my mind just simply gets distracted. Help me know, O God, that you are still present with me, even in my distractions and interruptions. But also help me savor those spiritually centered moments so much that I will make room in my life for more of them. When I am impatient because I can’t see, touch, hear, or feel you, let your love seep surely into me until my heart turns back to you in surprise and delight. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your creation of animals. You made so many magnificent creatures. Your diversity is astounding. Some are such a delight to watch. We can learn from so many of them. Your domesticated animals are such a joy to us, while the wild ones challenge us to observe their ways and learn about them. Thank you that You made them for man's enjoyment and use. Since many of them are directly dependant upon us, help us to be good stewards over them. Lord, protect the endangered beasts of the earth who are hunted by poachers for the wrong reasons. Dear Heavenly Father, I do thank You for the encouragement that You bring, when at times, I am tempted to become discouraged in certain situations. I am greatly encouraged when You do answer my prayers. You truly are a faithful God that hears and answers our prayers. I am amazed at times, when I have totally forgotten a prayer that I prayed years ago and suddenly it comes to pass. Lord, encourage my brothers and sisters in the Lord, and answer their prayers that have been prayed according to Your will. Dear Father God, The disease of alcohlol and addiction is alive and kicking. It took another person home to you. Please hold her close to you. I am saddened by the loss yet even in the midst of the sadness I am aware it is indeed Satan that works so incidiously. Guide and bless all those who continue to do battle and struggel with this deadly disease. Bless the loved ones whose lives are touched by the very thing that plagues us. Keep us ever mindful of the gifts and blessings of Your love. Keep us safe within the light of Your love. Grant us the wisdom and passion to seek You and Your son Jesus Christ. Dera Father God, Thank You for alowing me in Your presence early this morning. I don't know what it is that wakes me early and makes it impossibler to go back to sleep. I am however very willing to hear what You want me to learn or do. Just received a call that my neice was in a bad car accident. She had her 9 month old baby inthe car with her. The baby is fine...Thank God for car seats and airbags. The truck was rolled onto the drivers side. As of the call there were no obvious broken bones or internal injuries.. The occupants of the other car were not as fortunate.

Dear Heavenly Father,I am thankful that You are an "all seeing" and "all hearing" God, as this brings me great comfort to know You are watching over me at all times, and that You hear every word and prayer that I pray. Dear Heavenly Father, I am thankful for all that you have provided for me. Help me not to be stressful, when I have need of certain things and I do not see how they will be supplied. Dear precious Father God...My herat is so full of joy and my heart is singing your praises that I was able to share Your holiness and wondrous works with my neice. Thank You Father...Thank You.. Thank You for the tremendous and numerous blessing of having a family member not only back in my life but also because she is so willing to hear all the blessings and mercy You have bestowed upon me.. She is strugling with her faith, God, and I ask You to touch her and bless her. I see so much of me and the way I was before You and Your Son saved me.. I am so grateful and feel so blessed to be sharing my hope with her.. I pray God that you continue to use me as Your servant and give me the what ever I need to help her to come to You that she may not have to expereince the death to her soul that I had to expereince before coming to You. Thank You Father that I was able to see the dawn of a new day becasuse she shared with me her special spot in the mountains to see the sunrise. I loved that time with You and with her.. Please continue to speak and work through me to hope- fully bring this lost soul to the foot of the cross that she too can have a personal relatinship with You and with Your son. Our hearts touched as we talked about You and about faith. The choices others have made to not follow You and in that choice have hurt her deeply.. help her to know others choices are not from You.. Heal her heart Oh God and let her heart open to Your love and mercy.

And Father...You know my sister will be coming here to be with me.. Give me the strength and patience and whatever else You deem necessary to help her. She too has lost her faith. The depths of depression and other things in her life has turned her away from You. Help me to show her the depths of Your love and that even depresiion can be healed with the power fo the Great Physician that You are.,. You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.. Please help me to show her by how I live You are the source of all answers and You alone are our strength and our salvation. Help me to show her how You opened my hardend heart. She has hardened her heart and has buried so many deep hurts. Break the chains of denial for her that she toocan again expeince and feel the joy of knowing and loving You.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit. When You baptized me in the Holy Ghost, You gave me a gift of boldness to witness and a desire to pray more. Dear Father God I come to you today to thank you for Your many blessings.. Thank You for giving me the courage of my convictions and the ability to share all You have done in my life. Please continue to use me as your trusted servant. Father my heart is heavy. You know how important my aunt is to me. I know she is just shy of turning 95 years old. I know You gave her a full and happy life. I also know she is reay to meet you. Her mind remains sharp but her pain is great. Please give me what I need to release her to you. She has been my rock.. When I was running amuk in the world of addiction she raised me up to you. She has always been loving and kind and was never afraid or ashamed to share her faith. She stood strong in her love for You and for all persons in her life. I am grateful You paved the way for me to go visit her when she turned 90 and I was overwhelmed with the joy I saw in her eyes when she saw me. The talks we had then have been written on my heart. Tho I do not want to see her go I know she will be sitting with You. Give me the grace to release her to Your trusting and loving arms.

Father please bless Your children today.. Bless all that worship and praise you and touch those who do not acknowledge you in a very real and profound way.
