If Not For You
I’ve been inspired in recent days,
My disease, once again, has created a haze.
The fire in my soul, reaching peaks of despair,
So I take a few steps, to not go back there.
My God has been with me, and many friends too,
They helped me remember, all I’ve been through.
As I pray and I write, I put it all down,
And little by little, away goes the frown.
I’ve been to hell, and don’t want to go back,
So I do what I do, to get back on track.
So thank you my God, and all my friends, too,
I’d be back in the pit, if not for you.
