Finding Life
If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. (Mat 16:24)

"Which thought in my head is Your voice? What do You want, how can I know Your will for me today?" As is His habit, Jesus teaches us.
"If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself..."
Hopefully, we read the word, pray, and repent from our obvious sins. But we know that following the Lord is not just trying to stick religious habits into our life. Jesus is our life.
He saves us daily from our old self-determined ways. Until we take our plans, our cares, and our desires and lay them before the Lord- to empty our hands and surrender our heart before Him (it is a fight), until we do this we cannot follow Him.
The good news Christian is that we can... because He is here in Spirit to help us. It is a fight, but it's not about the demands of a miserable god. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)
He will change us to want to do, and to do His good pleasure. And it is His pleasure to free us more and more to walk in His love and be full of true and satisfying life. Let's pray.
Lord Jesus, knowing You is really living. When I get trapped trying to fulfill myself help me. Grant me grace to trust You- to fight to enter into Your rest. Help me to give over my agenda to You, to wait upon You, to serve You. Teach me to follow You- to say 'No' to self determination, and to follow- knowing You better and better. Amen
Today's very great and precious promise
"For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." (Mat 16:25 )
We have God's Word on it.
