Take it to the Cross
How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? (Luke 6:42)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many times in a day the Lord will correct me. But that does not qualify me to correct you.
We're often tempted to correct someone because we're offended and hold it against them. We need to be restored back into the merciful light of God. The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged (2Tim 2:24)
Trusting and relying on Jesus in obedience does not make it's goal to correct someone else. But it will work to restore them to Christ. Brothers, if a person is caught doing something wrong, those of you who are spiritual should restore that person in a spirit of gentleness. Watch out for yourself so that you are not tempted as well. (Gal 6:1)
If you are walking in the light of the Lord Jesus and I offend you, then you will take my offense to the cross and fight for me. (see also 2Tim 2:25-26) Let's pray.
Father, please forgive us for bickering. Thank You for Your tolerance. Help me to grow in grace with Your attitude. When I'm offended I cannot cross it out by correcting someone. Rather teach me the way of the cross, abiding in Jesus- then in the Spirit of love use me to restore others to You if they will. Amen.
Today's very great and precious promise
"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." (Joh 13:35)
We have God's Word on it.
