Healing

She grabbed
that moment
in time,
far away,
it seemed
yet
so near.
She pulled
it back
and held
it close
to her
heart...

But, then,
she remembered
our mind
creates memories
when our
hearts
can't deal
nor face
the present
because of the
hurt...

She looked
to the
Future
and hoped
for
wonderful things.
Wishful
thinking
because
still
her heart
couldn't heal
with the
Present...

She thought
for a long
time.
Read for awhile
wrote of
her concerns.
And then
turned
and faced
the pain
of the
Past...

She told him
of her ideas.
He encouraged her.
She got out her
watercolors
and painted
a bright,
colorful landscape
of a house
by the water
sunshine, flowers
laughter, friends
animals, children,
work and love
to tend to...

She turned
around again.
Faced pain
of the Past.
She said,
"goodbye"
and stepped
into her
picture
of the Present..

He waved goodbye.
Now, pain of the Present
shook his head
chuckling softly,
not meanly,
mind you.
For he liked her
a lot.
But, he knew
he would
be back
from time
to time.
But, the
next meetings
would be brief
yet sweet...

For she now
understood.
That, in order
to deal with
the pain
of the Past.
She would
have to
pull him close
for a
few moments
comfort him
and then
let go...

Pain
of the Past
walked for awhile.
He no longer
feared
for her heart
because Wisdom
of the Present
would come
and provide
sustenance
to her soul.
She would be okay
Future assured them.
