As You Will It, Lord.
Jesus taught us to pray for our daily bread and for all our other needs as well. Is this teaching sometimes misunderstood? When Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane that his cup of suffering might pass, he added the words, "Yet not what I want, but what you want" (Matthew 26:29).
Some people pray that God will do their will. Others pray that they might do the will of God. It is from the latter kind of prayer that life's greatest miracles occur.
"Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." May I mean it, Lord, and come to know your peace through my trust in your love and wisdom.
