Animal Blessing
I am grateful for animals, God’s creations of wonder and diversity.
Animals remind us of the power of God’s love to create with such wonder and diversity. Giving thanks for animal life on the planet, we include those that share our homes and others that live in nature.
Animals are a testament of the love of God active throughout all creation. New mothers protecting their offspring or a kitten or puppy snuggling in a person’s lap are all expressions of God’s love in the world. They give us reason to rejoice.
Pets, large and small, give and receive love unconditionally with great enthusiasm. Beloved pets and service animals show us the joy and loyalty of being there for those they love. We are grateful for animals and all they teach us about love and commitment.
“God made the wild animals of the earth of every kind, and the cattle of every kind, and everything that creeps upon the ground of every kind. And God saw that it was good.”—Genesis 1:25
