"How to Live a Full Life"
“Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruits of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers righteousness on you.” — Hosea 10:12 NIV
Because of Christ, we are the ones who are blessed with the gift of righteousness predicted by Hosea. But often we waste time looking back at hurts and failures of the past, rather than looking ahead at our opportunities. Hosea gives good advice:
• Sow for yourselves righteousness. A farmer who sows this year's seeds wastes no time looking back at last year's crop. We should look ahead and work toward the future.
• Reap the fruits of unfailing love. "A man reaps what he sows" (Galatians 6:7).
• Break up your unplowed ground. Ground must be broken before a crop can be planted. Unless we break up thoughts of self-pity and anger, it is hard to have love and hope in our hearts.
• Seek the Lord. Jesus promised, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find..." (Luke 11:9). God's gift is free!
Do you want to have new energy and joy today? If you keep your thoughts healthy, clean and happy and your body in good physical condition, you'll have plenty of energy and a clear mind to tackle life's biggest challenges. You can say, "Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3: 13). Seek God and let him help you today and every day. Look ahead, expecting good things, and you can have a life filled with energy and joy.
Lord, I thank you for planting seeds of love and mercy in my heart, so that I may live a joyful life and be a blessing to others. Amen.
