Forgive
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. (Eph. 4:32)

That's good, that's right, and that's godly. But we might find our own sinful heart arguing against mercy because someone else "doesn't deserve" to be forgiven. Yet the penalty for their sin has been paid in full.
Jesus paid, not only for our sins, but for the sins of the entire world. (see 1John 2:2) When Jesus died on the cross, His blood ran down to the dust of the ground- from where all of us came. All of us have sinned.
People are condemned because they don't accept God's payment and forgiveness. (see John 3:18) If we have His mercy for the person who we say does not deserve it, then we have His mercy for ourselves. Let's pray.
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus to die for our sins. We could never deserve the gift of life through forgiveness in Jesus. When I have been hurt by others help me to accept Your payment for my sin and theirs. Help me to walk with You in the wonder of Your love- to forgive as You have forgiven me. Amen.
Today's very great and precious promise
"For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions." (Mat 6:14-15)
We have God's Word on it.
