How important is prayer in your life today?

Prayer is so very important to me. It is one of my ways of connecting with God all throughout each day.

Prayer IS my connection to my spirituality. That is my concious contact with God as I understand him.

I had a real problem with God when I got here and my conception of prayer was messed up too. But then, prayer the way I learned it growing up was very different from my understanding of it today.

It was like a wish list...
Give me...
Help me...
Protect me...

Prayer is totally about humility today. Prayer puts MY head in the right place. I'm not telling God anything he doesn't know. He knows what I need, what I want, how I feel. He doesn't need my advise or my suggestions. It doesn't matter what I am coming to God with, the point is that I am bringing it to God.

Like the story in the bible about the feeding of the 5,000. The young boy had two fish and five loaves of bread, and there were 5,000 hungry people to feed.

Jesus (the Higher Power that works for me) did not need any help to feed the people. He did not ask the boy to go get more bread, or to go catch more fish, he didn't need to boy to feed all those people. And, remember, this was ALL the food this boy had, to give it up would leave him without anything to eat himself.

Jesus only asked the boy to give, to give all that he had, to surrender everything, to be willing to bring it to him and let it go. And that is the picture that I see when I pray.

When I pray, I go to God as I understand him, and I go to him with whatever, everything that I have, and I give it all to him. Not because he needs it, or my giving it has any bearing on the outcome of anything, but to remind MYSELF that all I need to do is give everything to my Higher Power.

That's what prayer is to me. I'm turning it over to God, surrendering to his will. Prayer is for me, not God.

Prayer is extremely important to me. Thats how i talk to God, meditation is when i listen. Thanks for letting me share

I pray in the Morning and say Good moring God I do love you how are you today God Please help me to do your will 2day, at night I say good night God thank you you have truly blessed me 2day please keep my friends and family safe and I Love you, Things have changed since i use to pray like God was a bell hop. I talk to God all day, i do try to spend quite time, but i don't get much so I try to learn to hear him.

Not a day goes by that I don't ask for a "Days worth of Grace". I stay sane with prayer and meditation.

It is one of the biggest deals for me.
The days that I am out of God's will,
well...mistakes happen.
I am still learning to live the program.
Its a huge differance between Quoting our
literature and living the program.
