Disillusioned
Wretched man that I am! (from Rom 7:24)

Just as soon as I decide that I'm not going to be upset at my wife for any of HER problems, I get entangled in my own terrible problems. Few things are more tempting to me than a rock that fits the hole in someone else's head.
Mean words fly out of my mouth- And why? I have been deceived by my own arrogance. For we know that the Law is spiritual, but I am of flesh, sold into bondage to sin. (Rom 7:14)
Christian, don't be discouraged. To grow in the good news, we need to remember the bad news. Arrogant illusion deceived us to think that we could overcome sin without relying on Christ.
Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! (Rom 7:24-25) Be disillusioned- it's not fun but it's a good thing. But don't be discouraged. Let's pray.
Lord Jesus, because You have overcome, I have true hope. You are kind when I am not grateful, and You are merciful to me, a sinner. Grant me grace to forgive and to be kind to others when they are ungrateful and stumble in sin.
Help me to trust in You- looking to You so that I would endure my evil urge to retaliate. Help me, we need Your love. Amen.
Today's very great and precious promise
For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace (Rom 8:6)
We have God's Word on it.
