Comfort
God’s love is sustaining, strengthening, and comforting me now.
Every experience of change, even a positive one, may result in a need to recover from some sense of loss. A joyful graduation can result in a loss of contact with classmates, or a new and better job can mean leaving dear friends and coworkers in order to move forward in life.
Other experiences may feel like pure loss, with no appearance of anything gained; but the love of God is present just as fully as in the positive moments. God’s love embraces and supports the people I care about as they go through life’s changes.
God’s love sustains and strengthens me too, comforting me as I renew myself spiritually and prepare for the next stage of life. Blessed by the love of God, I am at peace.
“I will turn their mourning into joy, I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow.”—Jeremiah 31:13
