A No Brainer
If we say we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. (1John 1:6)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The itching complaints, clumsy boasting, and loud demands of sin in me will never be satisfied, and to obey them is to be their slave. I can quote Scripture: "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." (Rom 8:1)
And yet His Word speaks to my need: While there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? (see 1Cor 3:3) Should we surrender our frustrated heart to the Lord Jesus in this circumstance, or struggle to nowhere in frustration?
It's a no-brainer... in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. (Rom 8:4) Open to your Savior's gentle knock. He brings no condemnation and peace to the surrendered heart resting before Him. Let's pray.
Lord Jesus, I need You. I struggle to get nowhere in frustration with self determined choices. But we find our life in You. Help me to surrender my struggle to You.
Thank You for the gift of repentance, that I can give all my burden to You. Teach me to deny my self determination, to surrender all to You. Nothing else compares to walking with You. You are faithful to save me. Let me struggle in this one thing: to rest in You. Amen.
Today's very great and precious promise
"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." (Phil 4:13)
We have God's Word on it.
