It is the Lord
"Cast the net on the right side of the boat..." (from John 21:6)

In the movie HAPPY FEET, a little penguin is told that triumph comes from 'try' plus 'umph'. The disciples had been trying to catch fish with umph- all night... but they didn't catch a thing.
Just like you and I get at times, they were weary and discouraged. Our weariness is often met by the Lord's direction to try again. "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some."
They didn't realize it was the Lord until after they obeyed His word. So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish. Then they knew, "It is the Lord!" (from John 21:6) Let's pray.
Lord, thank You for the encouragement of Your word and the work You do in us. Only through Your promises does our effort have Your divine umph.
Help us when we feel discouraged. Let us act according to Your word. You are the good Shepherd. Show us the way to abide in You- to trust and obey You. Amen.
Today's very great and precious promise
How blessed are those who hear God's word and obey it! (Luke 11:28 ISV)
We have God's Word on it.
