‘Peace I bequeath to you, my own peace I give you, a peace the world cannot give.’
All of us long for peace. Only Christ promises us true peace—a peace that can never be found in the comforts and consolations of the world. True peace can only be discovered when we put all our trust in God. In the midst of all our trials, tribulations and suffering this is never an easy thing to do!
Today’s reading from Acts tells us that ‘we all have to experience many hardships before we enter the Kingdom of God’. God has assured us if we but trust his help and mercy during these dark times we will be granted peace of mind and soul.
‘This is my gift to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.’
