Jehovah-Kadosh; The Holy LORD
by Gail Rodgers
A Holy God, A Pure God, A Perfect God, The God who satisfies, The God who cares. Lv 19:2;Hk 1:13; Mt 5:48; Ps 103:5; 1 Pt 5:7
Oh Holy God,
Too often I barge into Your holy presence with my urgent “todo” list and my string of requests for You to take care of.
Today I want to ponder Your holiness. Help me wrap my mind around the majesty of who You are. Often in Your word the description of You as “holy” is repeated three times. “Holy, Holy, Holy. ” I need the repetition, Lord. I need to be reminded of the holy ground that I stand on as I come to You in prayer.
As I enter Your throne room to ask for mercy and help I pray that You will remind me of the holiness of where I stand. Thank you that as I pray I come under the umbrella of the power of Your holiness and love.
Let Your holiness invade my consciousness. Let the awesomeness of You in all Your glory and majesty humble me as I approach You. You are so warm and welcoming and I thank you for that. You have made a way for me to come boldly into Your presence through my faith in Jesus. Help me not to forget Your holiness as I come.
May Your holy presence and Your holy character inspire me to invite that holiness to invade every part of me. May I desire Your cleansing of my heart, and mind, my attitudes and judgements. May I steep myself in the holiness of who You are in me.
You are worthy to be praised. May I simply and humbly bring myself under Your holiness and love and live differently today because I have seen the wonder of the Holy Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
Ponder: For one day put off all Your requests to God and simply ask Him to reveal His holiness to You in a fresh way.
