I have agreed to tell my complete story during my 4 year celebration. This will be the 1st time to an audience. I have done so privately in step groups and to my sponsor.
Any suggestions would be appreciated in ways to share my strength, hope, faith and recovery.
Thanks John J H:195:

.Relax and pray.
Alot of folks get so nervous that they forget that
we are talking to other folks just as sick as we are.
My old sponsor would start out by saying,
"I am and I am an addict, and just by saying that ,
you know I am a screwup like you."
Get in touch with your Higher Power, and allow
your ego to go.

Congratulations on 4 years of Sobriety! The Speakers I have received the most from are those who can laugh at themselves, are not afraid to shed a tear, speak from the heart , and have hope for today with the help of their Higher Power....Best of luck, we're all in this together, it is people like you that are an example that it can be done one day at a time. Remember to speak to the Newcomer, (that's someone like me who needs to hear you!)Again Congratulations!:85:

Hello john
Welcome to CRF, its nice to meet you
:85: CONGRATULATIONS!!! on your 4yr soberity :85:
I would pray right before speaking and it will be ok. Just pray for your higher power to give you the strength and the right words and your higher power will do just that. Your higher power has brought you this far with many blessings and i know that after youre done speaking more blessings will flood your way and you will have given the ones your speaking to, strength, truth, love, honesty and a friend, so in turn they will also be emminsly blessed.

:smile:CONGRATULATIONS.... HOW DID IT GO!!!
John J H - I can't lend you any advise, cause I just started sharing in here and at meetings. But one of the few speakers I've heard, had us all laughing during his story. He even had us laughing at ourselves by the end. Prayer wouldn't hurt and bust the ice with humor.
