Why am I so intent in helping kids say no to drugs? I have a past history of being a person that was a follower. In my youth I always wanted to be excepted and to be :cool:Because of that insecurity's I said yes to pot.(gate way to hell).
My peers (football, baseball and basketball players) was doing it so to be cool I said yes. Then 25 years later, 3 divorces b4 I was 30 years old, 4 children, that I never seen and parents that died in the middle of their life of broken hearts. Do you want me to go on, I think not.
Well enough about the past. The future are the kids.
(IF) my parents had the technology of today, and (IF) asked to do drugs and (I) thought that I might get caught (drug detection) I know that I would NOT say yes when asked to do drugs. MY HELL IS IN THE PAST, I don't want ONE MORE CHILD go through MY HELL> helpkidsaynotodrugs PLEASE!:195: Drug Education is not enough we need action!
ARE WE NOT DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AND EXPECTING
DIFFERENT RESULTS?:5: one child, one family, one community, one state, one country UNDER GOD.

WOW - thank you for all you are doing to get the message out. My husband is one that started with pot and drinking when he was young (13). I myself never did drugs and the drinking I did once in a great while, but never to get drunk. Now we have a child together and getting him to see how he could be influencing our son could drive me crazy. I hope your message helps alot of kids stay clean and become leaders and not followers like my teenager (she is a leader - I am lucky).

I admire you zeal, and hope you get some possitive results from what you are trying to do. I just want to leave my TWO CENTS WORTH, which may or may not be worth two cents.

In my expereinces, since I came to recovery, I have seen over and over, that alcohol/drugs/sex/gambling/overeating/etc. is not the problem. THE problem is always inside, never outside. And time seems to have proven that applying another idea to 'controlling the outside environment', just never helps fix the inside.

I have been addicted to alcohol, caffeine, sex, relationships, self-mutilation, chaos. Drugs, or alcohol, was never my problem.

Just something to think about. I drank, and all that other stuff I mentioned, because inside me was a very big whole, filled with cold, black, inky, suffocating emptiness, until that was taken care of, everything I touched would turn into poison for me, because I misused it.

I feel your pain, and drugs will enhance your negative feelings so in order to start loving ourselves again we must learn to give instead of take. Life is enjoyed most when we give to others. That's why I want to give to kids. I want to give them a chance to grow up to be all their creator wants them to be. DRUGS will (as we know) destroy that hope. If we just help direct one child away from drugs just one, think of the thousands of kids that wont walk down our pathway of distruction.
