"IT BECOMES IMPOSSIBLE TO HEAR WHEN YOUR TALKING";


funny that; I didn't "hear" the message above too clearly before; my mind was too busy on this particular topic; I had "old thoughts" running through my head of how I so often feel as if no one appreciates my efforts around here (at home)......not quite true; my children thank me for a lot of little things, including tidying their rooms when they are at dads, they thank me for the meals I make etc.....more the thankless tasks that people take for granted that "I" will do, mopping the floors, maintaining the garden, cleaning the loos..(toilets) etc etc.....I used to "crack a sad":44: :8: every so often and storm around and do what "had to be done" and feel very very resentful about it, I have tried at times to simply not do those jobs and hope someone would notice, however you know who ends up getting peeved off that they aren't done then???....yes, ME:44: .......I have learnt over time to "delegate" jobs around the place; quite simple, others probably don't even realise they need doing, they are used to me doing; however I had a momentary relapse two days ago; I didn't become resentful; merely had the thought; "it would be so nice to feel appreciated for the crap that I do do, be so nice for people to say thank's for making our home look nice, for keeping it that way for us"......

you know; it never occured to me to thank myself:eek: don't get me wrong I can appreciate my efforts in that I think, "how nice that is that it's clean and tidy again".."cool, that looks so much better now", however I do not put thank's flick for doing that on the end of my appreciation; like I said, it never occurred to me to do so.....:neutral:
so yes, it does be impossible to hear when you are talking; and something that I have heard over and over; if you cannot do it for yourself then maybe that's why others don't do it for you either; i.e. if you cannot love yourself others find it hard to too!!!!! and I think that at the end of the day, regardless of if others do learn to say thank's for those thankless tasks then at least I can begin and learn to be thankful for my efforts and myself!!!!:1: The same as honouring me; I haven't until recently honoured me, but expected another to!!!!!.....ok I AM hearing:wink: :D

I have learnt to take a book along to appointments these days also as we are often waiting in line there too, I learnt to appreciate that "free time"....cannot change it; may as well enjoy it!!!.....cannot do the housework, sort the bills etc while wer'e there so hey...lap it up!!!!:wink:

Same if I get caught in peak hour traffic, great time to spend in prayer with Our Father or have the newspaper open, it's easy to read bits from there, or play your fav. music and sing along WOOHOO!!!! :29:

"accepting things as they are and not as you wish them to be, makes getting through tough times easier".....so very very true!!!!....the road of least resistance....

something that helped me recently was a section of a book by Eckhart Tolle, "Stillness Speaks"; there is a wonderful chapter on "acceptance and surrender": the following is from it;

can you detect even the slightest element within yourself of not wanting to be doing what you are doing? That is denial of life, and so a truly successful outcome is not possible.
If you can detect this within yourself, can you also drop it and be total in what you do?

When you say "yes" to the "isness" of life, when you accept this moment as it is, you can feel a sense of spaciousness within you that is deeply peaceful...

Surrender is surrender to this moment, not to a story through which you interpret this moment and then try to resign yourself to it.

Sometimes surrender means giving up trying to understand and becoming comfortable with not knowing.

Surrender, one could say, is the inner transition from resistance to acceptance, from "no" to "yes".

Whatever you accept completely will take you to peace, including the acceptance that you cannot accept, that you are in resistance.

I'd like to share that I have come to realise that I am most beautiful, when I am at one with The Lord, when I am at Peace and content within, it shows from my eyes and when I smile, I can really, truly say to myself "I love you and I do believe I have beauty".....

when I have been lost in the darkness and relapsing and not maintaing my spirituality to any healthy degree I feel I look and see someone that is somewhat haggard and less than loveable.

As the days go by
my youthful appearance fades

How much beauty I find depends
on the time and effort I have put in

Today this does not matter
