I have been thinking about getting help for over a year. It is finally time. I don't know how I am going to do it though.

Just show up at a meeting. Ask for help. You can do it. You are worth it.
I did it 67 days ago.

:67: Sophia! :17: Glad to have you join us. Please make yourself at home. I suggest checking your phone book for the hotline number for either AA/NA and making a meeting and get lots of phone numbers from the women there. We do also have online meetings here http://www.cyberrecovery.net/forums/chat_mainpage.php . You can check the meeting times here http://www.cyberrecovery.net/forums/chatmeet.php . We also have Online Journals here http://www.cyberrecovery.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=29 which some use in their everyday recovery and to fellowship with each other. We also have a forum for newcomers here http://www.cyberrecovery.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3 - check that out when you get a chance. I look forward to getting to know you better. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have and keep coming back. We are here for you. :42:

The best way to do it is with the support of another Alcoholic, get an AA schedule meeting book from your area's AA Chapter. I know I was really scared walking into my first meeting, but once through those doors you will hear the most amazing reflections, stories and words of wisdom....we are all in this together. The road to recovery is unique for each individual, but AA is where we get to share our common experiences. My first meeting was a Speaker Meeting, they are usually a larger crowd, you can slip in, but be sure someone will recognize you as a newcomer and make you feel welcome.... I have since found smaller meetings in my area, shop around,Best of Luck, if you work the AA program the AA program can work for you....but it is work, the rewards are living in freedom, and a new community of people who think like us.......:42:
