I never really thought that I would ever use my name and the word addict in the same sentence. I grew up in a small country town with christian family. I always thought I was above it all. But I wasn't, I learned the hard way that addiction can strike anyone at anytime. Now looking back on it all I see I always struggled with addiction. I was born an addict and I will die an addict. No matter what it may be food, sex, money or drugs, I have always had an addiction of some kind. I have been clean from drugs since 3/18/2008 and it wasn't like I woke up that day and said I want to be clean. I was in jail and had hit rock bottom. It was two days before we were going to bury my grandmother. She was such a great woman. I was so ashamed of myself for getting myself into this mess. I had to admitt to myself that I had a problem. So I take it one day at a time and have learned that I have to let go and let God. I found a really good NA group and tonight I got a sponsor. That's my story.:195:

Hi Kayla and Welcome, remember every clean day is a successful day. It will take some time to be able to fully "Let Go" of the past, but you do you find the peace and serenity that many of us with a few 24 hours have come to know. It is important to stay in the atmoshpere of recovery whenever possible, that is why websites such Cyber Recovery are important. When we cant make a meeting, we just log on and are able to keep our recovery a first priority. It is so cool to have friends in recovery pretty all over the United States and even all over the world.
Keep Coming Back-because life does get better and the program does work.:85:
