My name is Carrie and I am an alcoholic. I just joined this forum today. I have not had a drink since 2/2/88. I have not always attended meetings or lived by AA principles. It is the grace of God that I didn't drink. I have been learning about the joy of true fellowship in the program and can't get enough of it. I have two girls at home and two that are grown. I have two grandsons, and my youngest daughter is between them in age. Great things are starting to happen for me. I have not officially completed my 8th and 9th steps, only doing the ones most pertinent to stay sober. But I am seeing some of those promises start to come true. It is really true that we will be amazed before we are halfway through. I have a good life today and am doing my best to remember that every day and to remain open, honest and teachable.
