Just Wait
It seems the world is moving at a faster pace then it did years ago. People are busy running from activity to activity. Most find their lives filled to the brim with too much to do and too little time to do it in. Time is of the essence and there is simply not enough of it. As a result, the emphasis is on convenience and speed. It is a culture of “now” were waiting is unacceptable. Fast food, instant access, and same day service is not just desired, but required, to keep up with the demands of life. Let’s face it, waiting is difficult unless it is considered to be “worth the wait”. There are those that find it unreasonable to wait for a red light or to wait to obtain health care but find it acceptable to camp out for days to purchase a ticket to a concert or movie opening, or to buy the latest video game.
The most worthwhile wait of all occurs when you wait on the Lord. He provides you with so much more than you can achieve on your own. Granted, it is not easy to wait on Him sometimes because His timing is usually not in sync with yours, but His timing is always perfect. You certainly can choose to just go it alone and not wait on Him, but if you do, you are sure to miss out on amazing blessings and unfathomable miracles. Just wait……the Lord will never let you down. If you don’t believe this spend some time reading His Word. There you will find many examples of God’s divine delivery of things that were worth waiting for.
Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him! Isaiah 30:18
