The Oxford Group, the Bible, & A.A.! Rev. Sherry Day, one of the Oxford Group founding members, wrote a seven point summary of Oxford Group ideas. He did it at the request of Rev. Sam Shoemaker. It stated that the Oxford Group principles were the principles of the Bible. And later, an Oxford Group leader Harry Almond wrote Foundations for Faith which expanded on the Bible origins with actual Bible citations. Both Dr. Bob and Bill W., cofounders of A.A., were affiliated with the Oxford Group at first. And today there are several titles which examine all the Oxford Group literature vis a vis A.A. and the Bible and discuss the Biblical roots of both: "The Good Book and The Big Book" ISBN 1885803168 (http://dickb.com/goodbook.shtml); "Anne Smith's Journal, 1933-1939" ISBN 1885803249 (http://dickb.com/annesm.shtml); "Turning Point: A History of Early A.A.'s Spiritual Roots and Successes" ISBN 1885803079 (http://dickb.com/Turning.sthml); and "The Oxford Group and Alcoholics Anonymous: A Design for Living That Works" ISBN 1885803192 (http://dickb.com/Oxford.shtml).
