Today I'm 36 hours without a cigarette and counting. It's been a long time since I've been a newcomer to a 12-step program. It's been over thirty years now since I surrendered my alcohol addiction to the care of God and Alcoholics Anonymous. I'm a firm believer in "it works, if you work it."
I'll add a new post to tell a bit more of my story and why I am ready to say goodbye to cigarettes.
Right now, I really want to thank you for sharing your special day with me (us). :12:

I know that I am very late in congratulating you...but I just discovered this part of your forum
A HUGE congratulations on over 19 months of being smoke-free!
Isn't it wonderful to be free of that addiction?? For me, it brought on so many positive changes... and even gave me the strength & determination to quit drinking. I know for a fact that if I had not quit smoking, I would not have had the resolve or confidence to consider sobriety. As it is so wisely said, "a journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step".
Congratulations again...well done! :)
