Hi all, Im glad I found this place and am looking forward to getting to know people here. Im 44 years old, married with one daughter heading into her teens. Ive drank all my life and was in a pretty depressed state from it when I decided to quit. The guilt of having my little girl watching Mom drunk and hungover on a constant basis was intense. Alcohol caused depression and anxiety, sleepless nights, rows with hubby and most of all a feeling of knowing I was making a mess of my life and abuve all motherhood. I read Alan Carrs book after a particularly bad weekend lost to alcohol and Im blessed that Ive been sober since. Its completly changed my life and they have been the best 15 months of my adult life.
The fear of relapse often looms large and though I have never been to AA or any other programme,I read everything I can get my hands on about alcoholism and this place looks like its got amazing advice and help.
Thanks for reading,
Nors

Glad you found us. Keep coming back. I would encourage you to seek out an AA meeting and attend. You don't have to introduce yourself or say anything unless you want to. I have found much love, support and encouragement in the fellowship.

Hello :17:and Welcome Nors - So glad you found us. There is a lot of support and love here, along with a lot of information on A.A. Please feel free to check things out and let us know if you have any questions.
I'm an alcoholic and I tried for years to put the bottle down. But, for me, I wasn't able to do that until I found A.A. and surrendered.
Please keep coming back and sharing with us.

Welcome Nors,
I'm glad that you've made it into recovery, it's truely the best thing that ever happened to me. I quickly found that I could not go it alone. AA has saved my life. The 12 steps are my new guide to daily living. My sponsor and the fellowship of sharing keeps me on the right path. The 12 step programs are spiritual in natural and AA has brought me to my connection with my Higher Power, God, for the first time in almost 40 years. For this I am truly grateful.
Good Recovery to You Today !!! :12:
