driled silver dollar

I was at an anniversary the other night and someone gave the celebrant a silver dollar with a hole drilled in it for each year clean. He said that before NA had coins that this is what was done. I think he may have said it was in Florida. Has anyone heard of this before?

No I haven't. Here in the UK you get key rings (fobs) for 24 hours, 30, 60 and 90 days, 6 and 12 months and then multiple years.

I have some of the first NA chips from the late 70's.
That may be what they did in that area of Florida.
I do have some sponsorship family there,and will ask.
Alot of the guys that I know have been here,members
of the 70's club.
