IMAGINE!
The LORD is king! Let the nations tremble!
He sits on his throne between the cherubim.
Let the whole earth quake!
The LORD sits in majesty in Jerusalem, supreme above all the nations.
Let them praise your great and awesome name. Your name is holy!
Mighty king, lover of justice, you have established fairness.
You have acted with justice and righteousness throughout Israel.
Exalt the LORD our God! Bow low before his feet, for he is holy!
Moses and Aaron were among his priests; Samuel also called on his name.
They cried to the LORD for help, and he answered them.
He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud, and they followed the decrees and principles he gave them. O LORD our God, you answered them.
You were a forgiving God, but you punished them when they went wrong.
Exalt the LORD our God and worship at his holy mountain in Jerusalem,
for the LORD our God is holy!
Psalm 99
The writer of today's Psalm lived in a time when the throne of Israel was not very stable. Yet, he wrote of a King that did not sit on an earthly throne. He didn't base his praise on the present, but on the future he based his praise on the Kingdom of God!
One of the most popular praise songs of the recent past is titled, I Can Only Imagine. The group that wrote and recorded the song is, Mercy Me. How many times have I said those words, "Mercy Me!"? Numerous. How many times have I tried to imagine what it would be like to be in His Presence face to face? Even more.
We cannot imagine. Even those whom God has given the privilege of being transported in the spirit to experience Him can't describe it. Yet, I have been in a few worship services where His Presence was so real I could almost touch Him. Our God is just, righteous, and holy, but most of all, our God is love. He can be trusted no matter how bleak the picture of our life may appear. God knows the beginning and the end and He is trustworthy to help us in His time.
Moses, Aaron, and Samuel failed God at times. Yet, God continues to use their lives to teach us the miracle of His forgiving love. Yes, He will punish us, but He will also promote us when we obey Him. He is just and worthy of our praise!
Today, let us enter into worship with Him, asking Him to take us past the outer courts of praise and into His throne room to worship. It can happen. Maybe we need to get on our knees, or maybe even our faces and not worry about what other people may think.
Go worship at His Holy Mountain today!
Father, You are too glorious for us to begin to imagine. Envelop our praise today with Your presence. We need to worship You! The Well

It Leadeth Unto Life
Psalm 16:11
Pastor Carl H Stevens
Before we become overwhelmed by the challenging and sometimes difficult demands of leading a Christian life, let us not forget this important truth: God's road "leadeth unto life." Our Lord is not a hard Master; He is a loving shepherd. His nature is not to drive us or force us to do anything. Christ always lead us gently. David said, in Psalm 18:35b,"Thy gentleness hath made me great." God never forced anything on David, He led him gently. God will never legislate to us, but He will teach us lovingly. He will never force us to make a decision, but His Spirit will guide us (2).
As He leads us on in our Christian walk, we discover the most satisfying exchange available to mankind: fellowship with our Creator. Then, we come to know God as our Father and friend. We experience a precious mixture of sharing in the power of Christ's resurrection and in the fellowship of His sufferings. We come to know Him with a burning intensity. We think with Him, we move with Him and He becomes an inexhaustible source of joy and peace. David said in Psalm 16:11, "You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand" (NIV).
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Psalm 16:11
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Send forth the wind of Your Spirit of truth
Send forth the wind of Your Spirit of truth, Oh Lord, and refresh and renew the lives of your children everywhere.
As the wind brings to the earth showers of life giving water so does your spirit of truth bring showers of blessing to our souls.
Only through Your Spirit of truth can our souls be renewed, Oh Lord.
Holy men throughout the ages wrote words of wisdom while being moved by Your Spirit of truth and those written words have encouraged the hearts of many.
The powers of darkness take delight in falsehood and ignorance and seek to oppress the truth that would liberate the souls of men.
Jesus Christ came to set us free from the powers of darkness and to illuminate our lives with the liberating light of truth.
Jesus Christ is the Light of the world.

Devotional For Dieters
October 12
John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
Corey had to admit that his friends were making better progress than he was. He just wasn't disciplined enough. His friends didn't seem to have nearly as much trouble with discipline. When he asked them why, they all just grinned and told him to pray about it. Finally, it dawned on him what they were talking about. Corey wasn't much of a Christian, but he wasn't stupid, either. His friends obviously had something he needed and wanted. If God could do so much to help them, then Corey believed He would do it for him, also. By receiving the truth of Christ, Corey was given all the strength needed to succeed in his diet.
Today's thought: God is ready to help me lose weight!

HELL STILL CALLS
“Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him…” Alcoholics Anonymous, page 60
“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.” Psalm 42:1
For what it's worth: Once I was sober long enough in Alcoholics Anonymous for the alcohol to be out of my system, I began to feel the agony of my dark, empty soul. I had to find relief. With the support of AA people and the grace of God, I found far more than just relief. My search led me up the Twelve Steps to a conscious contact with my Heavenly Father. I need to continue my search daily, being careful not to neglect my soul for worldly or selfish pursuits. My soul has tasted the heavenly and seeks more of heaven on earth, but hell can still call to me. I need to beg God’s help each new day.
God bless you!
