I've only had a quick buzz around the site so far but am I right in thinking that most of the people on here are Americans?
I live in France by the way.
Was just wondering if there was anyone else nearby.
I've looked into NA and AA and therapies locally but the french dont see drinking every day as a problem, practically everyone you see has a cigarette hanging out of their mouth and therapies are still seen as being way out there by most people.
Not sure how I'm going to get on here to be honest.
I was just starting to eat better, smoke less and look after myself more then I ended up here.

Which part of the UK are you in?
I was wondering why you suggested AA to me yesterday and then I had a dream last night which made it all very clear to me.
I was basically alcoholic last time I lived in France and I seem to be heading that way again.
Its basically because thats all anyone seems to do here.
Doesnt mean I have to follow suit though eh?
So there is a group right here and I will try to go next week. It will be in french but that will be good for me anyway.
I also got in touch with a local english speaking therapist last night and another one this morning.
Mike's right about me wanting to get on with this.
I was wanting to earlier this year actually but lots of stuff cam up to make it impossible.

Hi andre, because you said you'd looked into AA and NA and mentioned drinking, I thought some English speaking AA meetings might be a place to start. There are lots of them in Europe. Of course I did not know if you considered yourself an alcoholic or not as only you can decide that. Good Luck.
